Rodney A Rue

Born October 15, 1956 in Terre Haute, IN to Alonzo "Buck" and Alice Marie (Ripple) Rue, he married Deborah Lynn Egan on April 17, 1976 in Casey. She preceded him in death on September 22, 1997 in Pekin. Also preceding him in death are his parents and one infant granddaughter, Kayrinia on October 25, 1998.

Surviving are two sons, Grant (Kristina) Rue of Hanna City, Tyler (Stephanie) Rue of Pekin; one daughter, Amber Rue of Pekin; nine grandchildren; seven brothers, Bob (Marsha) Rue of Casey, Ron (Sharon) Rue of Murray, KY, Ben Rue of Lawrenceville, John (Nancy) Rue of Peotone, Dick (Kathy) Rue of Houston, TX, Tony Rue of Cypress, TX and Jack Rue of Mattoon and five sisters, Mary Sue Watson of Neoga, Bonnie (Don) Baird of Martinsville, Julie (Chuck) Briggs of Tilton, Andrea Rue of Casey and Melanie (Dave) Evans of Friendswood, TX.

Rodney had been a 35 year member of the Laborers International Local 165 in Peoria, retiring on December 31, 2012. He last worked for River City Construction in East Peoria.

He was a former member of Boy Scout Troop 65 in Pekin.

A loving and devoted father and grandfather, Rodney loved food and having weekend cookouts. He also enjoyed being outdoors and spending time at his cabin and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

His funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jeff Leeman will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Casey Cumberland Cemetery in Casey.
