Ruby A Porchie

Born May 11, 1925 in Bloomfield to Fred and Allie (Branscum) Jackson, she married Marion Franklin Porchie on Feb.26, 1946 in Vienna.  He died on June 2, 1972; 1 granddaughter; 5 brothers and 3 sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Joyce (Danny) Ripley and Sharon (Terry) Thurman, both of South Pekin, and Brenda (Frank) Lee of Forest City; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters; 2 brothers, Louis (Glenda) Jackson of Yuma, Ariz. and Floyd (Louella) Jackson of Washington and 1 sister, Alla Jean Henderson of Peoria.

A homemaker, Ruby was a member of the South Pekin Southern Baptist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading the Bible and Praying.

Her funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be 2 hours prior to the funeral.  The Rev. Jimmy Walden will officiate.  Burial will be at 1 p.m. TuesdayNovember 9, 2010 in Taylor Cemetery in Vienna. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Pekin Southern Baptist Church, 114 Second St., South Pekin, IL 61564
