Thinking of Sheila and her family today………missing her myself and remembering her engaging smile and laughter.  She was such a zany and fun person - laughing at herself often!  A wonderful friend to me and many. She is missed. God bless her family and friends.

Alissa, I'm so sorry to read about your mom's passing in March. She was such a positive and beautiful individual - my mom's sorority sister from SIU, our next door neighbor on Lakeside and lifelong friend. I have such fond memories of playing with Tommy as kids,  meeting you for the first time and your mom taking us to Sunset Hills pool in the summer.  I have more photos I found in my mom's things and audio of Tommy I taped in '74 with our new tape recorder -  I would love to share with you if you like.  

Your smile and laughter will be ever etched in the hearts of all those who loved you! 

I worked with Sheila at Lincoln School. She was always a ray of sunshine! She will be missed!!!!!!!!!!!!

My late husband ( Burl ) and I became friends with Sheila and Jerry in the early 1980’s. 
We shared a lot of good times !  
Weekend trips, Indy 500, summer holiday barbecues, just to name a few ! 
I miss those times and the friends we have lost!!

So sad to learn of Sheila’s passing. I worked with Sheila at Jefferson School. She was always fun loving and vivacious. Never a dull moment while working with her. I know she will be missed by many. Keeping the family in my prayers and thoughts.

To Sheila’s family… There are so many of us who will remember the classes she taught us in technology, the laughter of her spirited voice in the halls of district 108, and just such a positive influence in many of our lives as we taught throughout the years. She will certainly be missed and this is a sad day for all of us who were touched by her life.

You were there to share GED stories and successes. You and I had much in common. You listened and shared care giver advice as we navigated the bumpy waters of living with partners who slipped away. Your kindness and understanding will be forever a gift, sweet friend. 

So sorry to hear of Shelia's passing.  She volunteered at the Pekin YWCA for many years, teaching GED classes.  Wonderful lady who will be dearly missed.

Sheila was an amazing woman!!! I have had the privilege of doing her hair for 25 years.  She made me laugh every time she came in.  She loved her granddaughters so much and especially loved sharing fun stories about them.  I’m praying for your family as you grieve the loss of this awesome lady.  May your hearts be full with incredible memories . ❤️

Sheila was a fun, lively person. Her wonderful  personality and beautiful smile will fondly be remembered . She truly invested her time and talents in helping others and having fun along the journey of discovery. 

I was one of her G.E.D students and I absolutely loved her. She taught me so much in such little time,I hope Heaven has  beach for you up there Sheila. I will always remember you!!!!

My deepest sympathies to Sheila's family. Sheila was a beautiful, vivacious soul! She was always the life of the party! Her spirit will live on in all the lives she touched.

Alissa and family…my heart goes out to all of you…your mom was one in a million!! From playing softball to the Learning Centers…she always had a smile and her wonderful laugh!! So many fabulous memories. I am saddened to learn of her passing—hold on to the many memories you have as they will bring you much comfort in the coming days! 

I was one of many who had the privilege to work with Sheila in the Pekin school system. Sheila was smart, sassy, and so much fun, which is why so many, myself included, enjoyed her company and friendship. She will be missed here on earth, but I’m confident Sheila is happily dancing in Heaven. 

I always admired my gorgeous older aunt Cindy Storckman and Sheila & Nancy Kirkman. Their beautiful smiles will always be a wonderful memory. Sheila was a wonderful Parrot Head!

Sheila was a happy giving heart. She helped watch over my kids as they attended school and always made others smile…a lost art she possessed. She will be greatly missed but left a beautiful daughter and family to share her love of life!

What a perfect obituary! It captures the fun loving and caring person she was. I have so many wonderful memories of her - I wouldn’t know where to begin - a lifetime of friendship!  Fly high my sweet friend. You will be truly missed. Love you and always will.

Shelia and I worked together when district 108 started the media centers.  We also socialized when we were both single.  On several occasions we ended up in emergency with Tommy when he had an asthma attack.  Shelia was a person who enjoyed a party and having fun.  She had a great smile and a sunny disposition and though I haven’t seen in in quite awhile, it is how I will remember her.  Carolyn Bigger Neubauer
