Born August 12, 1951 in Suffern, New York, she was a daughter of Melvin R. and Marie Eileen (Todd) Byrd. Her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by six children, Anton (Shay) Williams of Fairview Heights, Lisa (Jeff Clinch) Williams of Stronghurst, DaShawn (Edward Hartman) Williams of Pekin, Damon Williams of Stronghurst, Nathan Williams of Hillsboro and Cassandra (Robert) Moreland of Peoria; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one sister, Katherine (Paul) Magurany of Cottage Hills.
A homemaker, Shirley loved her family and was known as “mom” to many. She was very fond of animals and enjoyed reading. Shirley also enjoyed drawing and the arts.
She was of the Baptist faith.
A celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
