

Born July 3, 1934 in Pekin to Walter and Irene (Benedict) Minyard, she married Bruce Walter Doud on July 7, 1956 in Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 18, 2012; her parents; and 1 infant brother, Harold Minyard.
Surviving are two daughters, Diana (George) Wall and Kimberly (David) Allen, both of Pekin; five grandchildren, Nicole (Joe) Telford and Ryan Allen, both of Pekin, Emily (Derrius) Jackson of Edwardsville, Shane (Christy) Goble of Bloomington, and Jennifer (Justin) Collins of Hopedale; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Shirley last worked for, and retired from Pekin National Bank. She had also worked as a teller at Herget Bank, a typist in the pathology department at Pekin Hospital, and as a realtor for Steele Realty in Pekin.
Shirley was a member of Pekin Bible Church, where she was the organist for over 55 years. She had served as the music committee chairman, was a Pioneer Girl Leader, worked in the church nursery, and had been a camp counselor.
She enjoyed travelling with her husband and was a loving and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013 at Pekin Bible Church. The Rev. Richard W. Jones will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
