Shirley Jean McCann

Born October 31, 1925 in Peoria to Albert and Nettie (Fritzinger) Carlson, she married Thomas Alexander McCann on January 8, 1944 in Peoria. He died June 13, 1969 in Seattle, WA. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack Carlson.

Surviving are her children,Mike (Mary) McCann of Mesquite, TX, Linda (Ron) Hoyle of Marquette Heights, Terry Ales of Pekin, Christine McCann of Lynwood, WA andJerri Lynn (Tom) Hyde of Washburn; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce (Robert) Heaton of Seattle, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirleywas a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Peoria and attended New Covenant Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX, where her son ispastor.

Her graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Pastor Zach Hoffman will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Covenant Baptist Church, 820 East Highway 352, Mesquite, TX 75149.
