Stanley H Meyer

Born March 24, 1930 in Manito to Roy A. and Marie D. (Becker) Meyer, he married Laura Crafton on October 23, 1954 in Macomb. He later married Arlene J. (Pecora) Heine on November 14, 1992 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Stanley Craig (Debby) Meyer of Bloomington and Douglas (Marsha) Meyer of Peoria; one step-son, Michael (Tracy) Heine of Pekin; one step-daughter, Michelle Norris of Pekin; nine grandchildren, Justin Meyer of Pekin, Robin (Angie) Meyer of Monmouth, Nichole (Kevin Burlin) Meyer of Bloomington, Brittney Meyer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Laura Meyer, Douglas Meyer, and Christopher (Kayla Ribicki) Heine, Paul Heine, and Chelsea Norris, all of Pekin; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Lou VanAntwerp of Rockford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rodney Meyer and Rick Meyer; one infant brother, Clifford Meyer; and one infant sister, Patty Lou Meyer.

He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Stan farmed in the Spring Lake area for many years, retiring in 1998. He also sold real estate for Olt & Griffin in Pekin for 11 years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pekin and the Tazewell County Farm Bureau. He was a former member of the Sunset Hills Country Club in Pekin, Ducks Unlimited, Pekin Moose Family Center #916, and Pekin Elk’s Lodge #1271.

Stan enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was a Chicago Cubs fan.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle and Pastor Robert Finley will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and also from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, both at funeral home. Private burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
