Stanley Dayle Shaw

Born November 19, 1938 in Astoria to Myron W. and Ruth E. (Bartlett) Shaw, he married Lillie A. Tripp on December 15, 1967 in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are his three children, Patrick (Becky) Shaw of Springfield, Kevin (Elizabeth) Shaw and Carrie (Aaron) Jones, both of Pekin; five grandchildren, Erin Shaw, Ryan Shaw, Michael Whittaker, Grace Jones and Violet Jones; one brother, Steve (Kelly) Shaw; and one sister, Judy Gain.

His parents preceded him in death.

Stanley was a graduate of Astoria High School and Bradley University in Peoria.

Stanley was employed at Pekin Insurance, where in 1972 he earned his CPCU designation. When he retired after 37 years, he was subrogation supervisor.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed traveling, especially the many trips to Gulf Shores, Alabama. He was also a Boy Scout leader for many years with Troop 181. He had a teasing sense of humor and mischievous smile.

His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will follow the service at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
