He was born April 6, 1963 in Pekin to Charles Elden and Alice Helen (Hilliard) Rhodes. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sisters, Linda (Rich) Byars, Rhonda (Roger) Moore, both of Pekin and Debra (Joseph) Bickerman of Henry; seven nieces and nephews and five grand nieces and nephews.
Steve had worked for Cub Foods in Bloomington as the night grocery manager and last worked for County Market in Pekin as their night grocery manager.
Steve was a fan of John Wayne and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He loved Halloween. He also enjoyed camping andfishing.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2006at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2006 and also one half-hour before services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
