Stephen Sanders

He was born August 23, 1955 in Peoria, Illinois, the only son of the late Dorothy (Henning) and Archie Sanders.

He graduated from Farmington High School and was employed as a journeyman electrician with the IBEW Local #34, Peoria, Illinois. Mr. Sanders worked and was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church in Peoria. He did volunteer work at the Loaves and Fish Soup Kitchen and Pantry.

He is survived by his four sisters, Susan (Bob) Oldfield of Hanna City, IL, Cheryl (Gordon) Bristol of FL, Gail Sanders of Hanna City, IL, and Diana Joy (Don) Karrick of Trivoli, IL.

A service will be held August 18, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 116 NE Perry Ave. Peoria, Illinois. Free parking is available across from the church building. A Life Celebration will follow the services.

Inurnment will take place at the Resurrection Mausoleum, 7519 N. Allen Rd. Peoria, Illinois on August 23, 2018.

Donations: Can be made in his memory, to the Loaves and Fish Soup Kitchen Pantry. Loaves and Fish is a weekly feeding ministry, providing a free hot meal, food pantry, worship service, educational assistance, clothing room and medical clinic to those in need each Saturday. Begun in 1994, Loaves and Fish serves from 250-375 guests weekly.
