

Born October 3, 1955 in Pekin to William H. and Mazine A. (Thompson) Trumpy, he married Jody Kenney in Waukegan on March 6, 1974. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents; one son, Bradley (Jolynn) Trumpy of Pekin; two daughters, Tracy (Lyle) Chism and Kristin Trumpy, both of Pekin; four foster sons, Jasen Martin, Christopher Thompson, both of Pekin, James Shelby and Jordon Lemay, both of South Pekin; one foster daughter, Megan of South Pekin; eight grandchildren; one brother, Barry (Karen) Trumpy of East Peoria and two sisters, Cheryl (Virgil) Revelle and Geri (Edward) Reese, both of South Pekin.
Terry worked for Air-Land Transport in Morton as a trucking dispatcher for 10 years, last working September 26, 2007. He also worked part time at the Pekin Gun Shop. He was a former North Pekin Police Chief and has worked with several law enforcement agencies.
He served in the U.S. Navy and had served on the South Pekin School board from November 1995 until July 2005.
He was a member of the South Pekin Congregational Church, Tremont Sportsman's Club, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association.
Terry was a family man who loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed collecting guns, deer hunting, fishing, and boating.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. James E. West will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2007at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
