Thomas E Norton

He was born July 22, 1981 in Peoria to Michael Lindsey and Gretchen Louise (Obenhaus) Norton. His father preceded him in death on May 1, 2013 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Mary Norton.

Surviving are his mother, Gretchen Norton of Pekin; one sister, Erin Norton of Pekin; his long-time companion, Jennifer Thibedeau and her son, Brock, both of Pekin; his grandparents, Bruce and Anita Obenhaus of Princeton; and many aunts and uncles.

A 1999 graduate of Pekin Community High School, he was an Illinois State Scholar and received the PCHS Mathematics Department’s Award for highest grade. He later attended the University of Illinois.

Tom had been a cook and server in many area restaurants.

Tom had many interests that included attending music festivals and concerts, playing poker, outdoor activities, was an animal lover, and was an avid television and movie buff. He was a St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.

His memorial visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services.
