

Born January 31, 1951 in Beardstown to Otto Willis and Cathern Rosalie (Tandy) Maltby, he married Carolyn Patricia Ferguson on December 12, 1970 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tammie (Matt) Avery of Mackinaw and Nicole (Steve Fulscher) Landsverk of Mt. Pulaski; one son, Timothy James (Laurel Brown-Maltby) Maltby of Great Falls, Montana; six grandchildren, Tẽa Landsverk, Will (Hannah) Avery, Mikaela Avery, Elijah Landsverk, Richard Brown-Maltby and Lincoln Brown-Maltby; one brother, Thomas Maltby of Pilot Knob, Missouri and two sisters, Willa Hundley of McKee, Kentucky and Patty Maltby of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Giffhorn and two brothers, Otto Maltby, Jr. and Ted Maltby.
Tim retired from Caterpillar, Inc. after 35 years of service. He then worked part-time for the Morton Auto Auction for several years.
He was a loving family man, especially devoted to his grandbabies.
Tim enjoyed a variety of personal interests and hobbies, including hunting and fishing, wintering in Gulf Shores, drinking coffee, playing bingo, and riding motorcycles.
Tim's life was marked by his devotion to his faith, his family, and his work, leaving a lasting legacy for those who knew him.
He attended Northwoods Community Church in Peoria.
His memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 at Northwoods Community Church in Peoria. Pastor Kurt Smith will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

Tim truly enjoyed helping with the Operation Christmas Child Project at Northwoods each year.
