Virgil L Wolfe

PEKIN ~ Virgil L. Wolfe, 73 of Pekin, formerly of Glasford, passed away at 12:53 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born August 6, 1937 to Orville and Lydia (Davis) Wolfe, he married Ethel Robbins on June 22, 1957 in Glasford.  She survives.Also surviving are four daughters, Teresa (Phil) Hensler of San Jose, Alice (Rick) Miller of Green Valley, Carla Phelps of Mapleton, Katrina Wolfe of Pekin; five sons, Darryl Wolfe of South Pekin, Mark (Fran) Wolfe of Pekin, Todd Wolfe of South Pekin, Carry Wolfe of Pekin and Michael Wolfe of Pekin.  He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Roger Wolfe of Glasford.Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one half sister.He worked for the Peoria County Highway Dept., retiring in 1996.  Prior to that, he worked at the Peoria County Jail in the maintenance department.He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Glasford.Virgil enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles.  He also enjoyed attending church.  He loved watching wrestling on television.There will be a memorial service at 7 p.m., Monday, December 6, 2010 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Glasford.  The Rev.
