Born February 4, 1944 in Paducah, Kentucky to Charles M. and Florence (Amis) Merry, she married David Lee Klein Sr. on September 12, 1974. He died September 24, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Charles A. Stevens; two brothers, James “Jim” Merry and Charles William Merry and two nephews, Wayne A. “Peewee” Farrow and Albert Farrow.
Surviving are five children, James Anthony “Tony” Stevens, Jr., Katherine “Kathy” Jordan, James Morris (Chris) Stevens, Teresa Leal and Terri Emert; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; brother, Gregory “ Greg” (Betty) Merry; one sister, Renee Farrow; two sister-in-laws, Colleen Merry and Victoria Merry and one daughter-in-law, Laury Stevens.
Wanda worked as a bus driver for Peoria City Link for 26 years.
She enjoyed making ceramics, watching WWE wrestling, horror movies and true crime. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Kingston Mines Cemetery.
