

Born December 2, 1940 in Peoria to Abraham and N. Virginia (Roberts) Oedewaldt, she married Dale Ripper on November 1, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Jim Barden and brother-in-law, John Peters.
Surviving her daughter, Debora Barden of North Pekin; stepson, Dale R. (Lisa) Ripper of Washington; stepdaughter, Deanna (Tim) Goodin of Pekin; two granddaughters, Alexis and Samantha Goodin both of Washington; two sisters, Sandra Peters of Pekin, Terri (Gary) Allen of Canton and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 979 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Unit 3883. Wanda enjoyed fishing, reading and watching Nascar.
Wanda worked for D.H.L. for 9 years handling exports and customs, Commercial National Bank for 23 years and Szolds Dept. Store for 10 years.
Her memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Memorial visitation will be thirty minutes prior. Pastor Tim Christian will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded.
