

Born February 29, 1928 in Chicago to Sigurd and Marie (Musil) Abrahamsen, he married Alice Johnson on April 21, 1951 in Chicago. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jean (Rick) Kestner of Pekin; one sister, Rose Anne (Richard) Hepburn of Crest Hill and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ralph Abrahamsen and one sister, Marie Herman.
He served in the United States Navy prior to the Korean War and then attended Augustana College in Rock Island.
Bill worked as a carpenter and construction superintendent in Chicago and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local Union 62 for over 40 years, retiring in 1990.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking and his family. He also loved growing oranges and grapefruit in his yard in Florida and the Florida heat.
He was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago.
There will be no visitation or services. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chicago at a later date.
