

Born December 8, 1947 in Mendota to Jake and Mildred (Wirschem) Huls, he married Julie Anne Venardi on June 14, 1969 in Arlington. She died March 29, 2018 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Lambert.
Surviving are two sons, Matt (Kathleen) Huls of Pekin and Marc (David Regan) Huls of Portland, Oregon; three grandsons, Tony Hursman-Huls and twins, Christopher and David Huls and two granddaughters, Kylee and Jennifer Huls.
Bill was a 20 year retired veteran of the United States Army.
Following his retirement from the Army, Bill worked for 15 years as a Customer Service Representative at HGS in Peoria, retiring in 2016.
Bill enjoyed working crossword puzzles, coloring and doing dot to dot’s. He also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a longtime member of First United Presbyterian Church of Pekin.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at First United Presbyterian Church of Pekin. David Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lost Grove Cemetery in Arlington. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army.
