Born March 11, 1938 in Peoria to Matthew Joseph and Norma Faye Brander, he married Shirley Louise Coon on November 2, 1957 in Mississippi. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ted Wall of Pekin and Joseph Wall of Mesa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Wall.
He had served with the Illinois Air National Guard.
Bill retired from Pekin Insurance where he was a claims manager in the property and casualty division. He also had experience investigating arson claims.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria.
His graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026 at the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
