

Annette was born on March 14, 1928 in Jemison, Alabama to Elvira Scott Glass and Perry Glass. She grew up in Alabaster, Alabama and lived the remainder of her very full life there as well. Throughout her life she traveled the world, got married, built a home, was known for her passion of gardening and was a prominent member of the community. In July 1980, Robert and Annette Cardwell were recognized by the Alabaster Chamber of Commerce with the Good Citizens Award. She was also a devoted member of the United Methodist Church of Alabaster.
Throughout her well-lived life, Annette will be remembered for her love of family, faith, hard work, and dedication to her late husband, Robert "Bob" Cardwell. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, church, reading, and cherished time with her friends and family.
Annette is survived by her brother, Cecil Murry Glass, who lives in Murray, Kentucky; and her nieces, nephew, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cardwell; her mother, Elvira Scott Glass; her father, Perry Glass; sister, Frances Threet; and nephew, Jim Threet.
The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
Flowers may be delivered to Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, in memory of Annette Cardwell.
