Annette Marie Spires, of Ohio and Alabaster, AL, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Ann was born in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. She married her loving husband, Gary, on August 31, 1973 at Emmanuel Lutheran in Marion, Ohio. Ann worked in the medical field as a pediatric and neo-natal RN for more that 40 years, the last 25 at St. Vincent's Birmingham.
Ann is preceded in death by her father, Bill Buell and her step-father, Lowell Thacker. She is survived by her husband, Gary Spires; daughters, Michelle Welch (Mark) and Morgan Kiley; grandchildren, Trey Kiley, Colby Kiley, Gabrielle Welch, Preston Welch and Max Kiley; mother, Loretta Thacker; stepmother, Carolyn Buell Stuckman; sisters, Janette Scheff and Susan Buell.
The celebration of Ann's life will be at 11am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home.
