Betty Ann Dupree

She was born in Shelby County, Alabama on April 3, 1935, to the late Lucius and Myrtle Brantley. She married the love of her life, Billy John Dupree on May 26, 1953, and their union would be blessed with four children. Betty was the Director of First Assembly of God Childcare, New Life Daycare, and Nanny's Homecare. She helped raise and care for countless children throughout her community. Known as "Nanny" to all the children she cared for, she was loved by them all.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her son, Steven Ray Dupree; grandchildren, Brent Bass and Johnathan Lovelady; and her siblings, James Brantley, Dick Brantley, Harold Brantley, Ethel Mae Brantley, Nell Brantley, Helen Brantley Gentry, Elizabeth Brantley Ellingson, and Shirley Brantley McKnight.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 71 years, Billy John Dupree; her children, Cynthia (Ronnie) Martin, Regina (Russell) McDonald, and Shirley Dupree (Charlie); her grandchildren, Pete Dupree, Misty Grillo, Brad Dupree, Brooke Watson, Heather Lawley, Timothy Dupree, and Dallas Martin. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Annamarie, Alyssa, Christopher, Morgan, Parker, Peyton, Sky, Haylie, Luke, Brentley, Logan, Rayanne, Kristian, Kylie, Kensley, and Grayson.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 5:00 pm with a visitation and reception to follow.
