Billie Gail Stripling Carper, 82 of Pelham, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Mrs. Carper is preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin and Essie Lawley Stripling; brothers, Gordon Denver Stripling and Huey Willard Stripling; and sister, Helen Stripling Hilton. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Gene Carper; children, Sharron Tomlinson (Keith), Lisa Moore (Doug) and Michael Carper (Katie); sister, Mary Elsie Stripling Cole; grandchildren, Tyler Tomlinson (Lacey), Audrey Moore Meadows (Wilson), Austin Moore (Sarah), Chandler Moore (Taylor), Mallory Carper and Layne Carper; and great granddaughter, Emmett Louise Meadows. The celebration of Billie's life will be at 2pm on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 1:30. Rev. Mike McLemore will be officiating.
