Mr. Brendan Wayne Willis, 12, of Helena, Alabama, died on April 2, 2005. He attended Riverchase Middle School, where he was in the sixth grade. He played French horn in the band, played baseball with the Helena Reds, and played Upward Basketball at Valleydale Church in Pelham and Riverside Baptist Church in Helena, Alabama. He made friends easily and had a lot of them. Brendan was a very outgoing child. He loved to play with children of all ages, ethnicity, disability or otherwise. He was a wonderful child and an absolute joy. Brendan greatly loved skateboarding, riding scooters and bicycles in his neighborhood with all his pals. He enjoyed playing video games with his friends, jumping on trampolines and had been building a "hideout" fort in the woods near his home with his friends. One of his greatest loves was his dirtbike. Grandpa Jim had gotten him the entire dirt racer outfit and Brendan really felt like something else all dressed in his gear and ready to ride. He loved music and loved to play. Brendan was self taught by ear on his electric keyboard. He had a new set of drums from Santa this past year. With practice and the help of his friend Eric, Brendan was quite the aspiring drummer, his role model being Alex Van Halen. He found a beautiful friend in a young lady named Krissy, whom Brendan spoke of often and adored. I can see why after having met her myself and I adore her as well. Brendan's best friend Josh has been a comfort to us and has shared wonderful memories we will cherish always. Brendan will be so very missed by all that knew him. He can never be replaced and will never be forgotten. Our most precious gift from God to his Dad and I. He is an Angel now in Heaven beside our Lord. He was my Angel here on Earth. Arrangements under the direction of Ridouts's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama.
