David Scott Engel, 46, was born February 8, 1965 in Atlanta Georgia and went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 8, 2011. He was a graduate of Samford University, and Briarwood High School. He is survived by his children Mitchel Scott, Daniel Brooks, Stephen Andrew, Kristen Nicole, and Courtney Laine; his parents, David and Joanne Engel one sister Jacquelyn Campbell, 1 Nephew and 4 nieces. He was a member of Shades Mountain Independent Church for 38 years. Family will receive friends from 10:30-12:30 on Friday at Shades Mountain Independent Church, 2281 Old Tyler Road, Birmingham, Al. with a service to follow at 12:30. Burial will be in Southern Heritage Cemetery.
