

She was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, on September 9, 1946, to Edward and Pearl Desautel. Jeanne graduated from Lawton High School and went on to earn a degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma. On June 27, 1968, she married the love of her life, Irving Douglas Foster. Jeanne devoted much of her life to education, serving as a teacher at Valliant High School and Shades Mountain Christian School, where she impacted the lives of many students. She had a deep love for writing and found great joy in publishing her own books. In her spare time, she also enjoyed playing the piano, a talent that brought beauty and comfort to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Desautel and Pearl Pierce Desautel, husband, Irving Douglas Foster; her son, Samuel Douglas Foster; and her sister, Paula Stutzman.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Edward Foster, and daughter, Susanna Leigh Foster; grandchildren, Cameron Taylor Foster, William Edward Foster, Katherine Elizabeth Foster, Caroline Ruth Foster, Lauren Madison Gary; siblings, Nancy Thomas and David Desautel.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a service to follow in the chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside to conclude at Oak Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
