Edward Lamar Sawyer, 72, of Jack, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Lamar loved and was extremely proud of his three children, Nina Michele Sawyer of Helena, AL, Larry Sawyer of Chelsea, Alabama and Joni Nicole Reed of Elba, Alabama. He is also survived by his brother Don LaVon Sawyer as well as his many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other friends. Lamar was one of the few people left whose handshake really meant something. In fact, it was better than a legal contract. He was an excellent provider for his family and as genuine as they come. His quick wit and “salt of the earth” personality made everyone he met feel immediately close to him. Friends and strangers were always welcome on he and Nina’s porch, and he will be sorely missed.The graveside memorial service will be held on October 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Brundidge, Alabama.
