Elizabeth served as the Food Service Director at Independent Presbyterian Church for over 20 years, where she lovingly prepared and oversaw more than 60,000 meals each year. For Elizabeth, this was far more than a job—it was a true gift of love, expressed through every meal she served. She found deep joy in caring for others and nourishing her community. Elizabeth was also instrumental in creating a welcoming and vibrant ballroom dance community for singles without partners. Entirely self-taught and with no formal training, she shared her passion for dance with others and remained active in the community until the age of 80. Her dedication, generosity, and joyful spirit touched countless lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther James and Minnie Pauline Burnham; sisters, Frances Taylor, Ida Clecker, and Lillie Alexander.
Elizabeth leaves behind her children; Patricia A. Marlowe (Jack), Tony R. Fowler (Laurie), and J. Todd Fowler (Kathy); grandchildren, Jeremy Marlowe (Amy), Brandon Marlowe (Caitlin), Kevin Marlowe (Beth), Zack Fowler (Allison), Lindsey Hillis (Tanner), Riley Fowler (Bethany), Nicole Fowler, Jake Fowler (Caitlin) and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with a service to follow in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will conclude in the adjoining cemetery.
