

Emmett Holt Cloud passed away peacefully in Atlanta, Georgia on February 18, 2022. He packed a lifetime into 45 short years. He was born in Evanston, Illinois and grew up in the Birmingham, Alabama area, attending Advent Episcopal School ('91) and then Indian Springs School ('95).
While at Springs, Emmett applied his keen intellect and love of debate to the Academic Decathlon and Debate teams. He went on to attend New York University and graduated in three years with a degree in Economics. Following graduation, Emmett began his career as an investment and personal finance manager.
Emmett will always be remembered for his charisma, sense of humor, and for how much he cared about people. He expressed his love for others through his generosity, his cooking, and his art.
Emmett is survived by his parents, Gretchen and Holt Cloud; his sister, Heather Cloud; his wife of 13 years, Teri; and his two wonderful children, Jackson and Charlotte Cloud. He is also survived by his grandmother, Harriet Cloud; 13 aunts and uncles; and many first cousins.
Visitation will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 2-3 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022, followed by A Service of Celebration of Emmett's Life at 3 p.m. at the funeral home's chapel. Dr. Tom Bryson of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Birmingham will officiate.
