Fred A. Stephens of Birmingham, Al passed away peacefully at the age of 86 early on Thursday July 28 2022. He is survived by his wife Sandra, his children Mark Stephens, Scott (Nomie) Stephens, Tracy (Kiel) Wilson and Bret (Stephanie) McElmurray. Fred had a passion for golf and had a remarkable career within the Alabama Golf Association, Southern Golf Association, and US Golf Association. He was truly dedicated to serving amateur golf and was one of the top rules officials in the game, He left a legacy of excellence for us all to follow.
Funeral service will be held at Southern Heritage in Pelham, Al on Monday August 1, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. with a visitation at 1:00 prior to the service. Sandra will receive guests to celebrate Fred's life at Hoover Country Club after the service.
