Gary Nelson Parker, age 83, of Indian Springs, AL, went home to be with The Lord on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. The Birmingham, AL native was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was retired from Alabama Power.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Alda and Mack Parker. Survivors include his wife, the former Linda Lee Johnson; children, Buddy Parker (Sue), Elizabeth Malone (Eddie), Tim Parker, and Jim Parker (Marie); grandchildren, Allen Staggs, James Malone, T.C. Parker, Renee Lavies, Elise Logan, Mary Catherine Parker, and Anna Parker; as well as several great-grandchildren.
Gary enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Airstream Traveling Club. His wit and humor will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the 3 p.m. funeral service in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial, Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
