

Gloria Jean Hart Dutton of Montevallo, Alabama, passed away Thursday morning, April 16, 2015. The Birmingham, Alabama native graduated from Ensley High School and attended The University of Alabama. She was a member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church, where she was active in the SonShine Singers Choir.
Gloria served as the director of Midfield Public Library for 22 years. She was an avid reader, and a talented and creative artist.
Gloria's family includes her parents, Harvey and Evelyn Hart; her husband, Clyde W. Dutton, Sr.; one son, Clyde W. Dutton, Jr.; two daughters, Sherri Dutton Smotherman and Stacey Dutton Sciandra; grandchildren, Aly Smotherman Scarbrough, Aaron Smotherman, Julien and MaKenan Sciandra, and Brandi, Ashley, and Christie Dutton; one great-grandchild, Addison Reese Scarbrough; and one sister, Lynn Threadgill.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Meadow Brook Baptist Church, Birmingham. The Celebration of Gloria's Life will be the same day at 12 noon at the church, and the committal service will be at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Gideons International.
