Harold E. Lockhart, Sr., age 82 of Hoover, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Harold was born in Clanton and graduated from Isabella High School. He attended Auburn University. He loved the Lord, his church and his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Lockhart was employed with Georgia-Pacific for over 35 years, and was a faithful member, deacon, and usher at Lakeside Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer, and on several occasions shot his age. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Lockhart is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Nell Moates Lockhart; daughter, Karen Watkins (James); sons, Harold Edward “Hal” Lockhart, Jr. (Isabel) and Kim Alan Lockhart; grandchildren, Matthew Watkins, John Watkins, Ward Lockhart, III, and Haley Lockhart.
The celebration of Mr. Lockhart’s life will be at 12 noon on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10am until 12pm.
