Harvisteen Anderson Chastain, age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. She was born on May 18, 1949, in Lyons, Georgia, to the late James Harvey “Jiggs” Anderson and Beatrice James Anderson Rollins.
Harvisteen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married the love of her life, Frank Chastain, with whom she shared a life full of love and family. Together, they raised two children: Frank Chastain (Joy) and Jaime O’Neal (Joe).
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Brooke (Matt), Will (Cherish), Kaitlin, and Luke, and a cherished great-grandmother to Gatlin, Palmer, Peyton, and Gracie.
Harvisteen is preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank, her parents, her brother Carl Lloyd (C.L.) James, and her sister Lora Gail Ganey.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 25th, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Visitation and reception will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by graveside services at 2:00 p.m.
She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
