Henry Whitfield Strong, 77, was born on April 20, 1948, in Birmingham, Alabama. He spent his youth in Montgomery and, upon graduating from high school, attended the University of Alabama, where he proudly supported the Crimson Tide throughout his life.
Henry spent his professional career in Birmingham, working in the insurance and investment fields. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Quentin R. Strong; his mother, Doris Strong McCurdy; and his brother, George Q. Strong.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Bennett Strong; his son, Henry Whitfield “Whit” Strong Jr. (Heather); his grandsons, Dillon Strong and Reece Strong; his sister, Elaine Acree (Allen); his aunt, Barbara Parr; and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in honor of Henry.
A visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, January 11, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m.
