Mr. Hoyt A. Duke, 89, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Duke was the son of Gordon & Eda Duke of Fairfield, AL. He is survived by his wife, Joann Royal Duke; his children, Don (Patti) Duke, McCalla; Martha (Wanda) Martin, Atlanta, GA; Wayne Duke, Birmingham; Laura Grill (Pat) of Auburn; Kim (Marty) Fehl, Montgomery; Kipp (Ricki) Owen, Pelham. Nine adoring grandchildren, Ashley (Jeff) Robinson, McCall, ID; Jamie Martin, Hoover; Jacob (Teri) Martin, Alabaster; Kate (Jamie) Colbert, Hoover; Amy Duke, McCalla; Emily Duke, Birmingham; Dolly Duke of Park City, UT; Scout and Kira Owen, Pelham; and six loving great-grandchildren. Mr. Duke is a WWII Navy Veteran. He served his country proudly. Mr. Duke retired from US Steel after 41 years of service. He was a much loved man who never met a stranger, and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
