Irmgard Klingler Middleton, of Worms, Germany, passed away from a brief and unexpected illness on May 10, 2019. After being a bookkeeper with Western Supermarkets her husband and she opened Klingler’s European Bakery and Café in Vestavia 28 years ago. She was loved by her customers and employees and she loved the ones who did not ask “how much longer until my food’s ready?” Mrs. Klingler’s response: “Go to McDonald’s if you want fast food.” Mrs. Middleton was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother loved by all. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Middleton; her parents, Wilhelm Adam Klingler and her mother Marianne Hildegard Klingler. Survivors include three daughters, Marianne Self (Bob), Richelle Jacks (Rob), and Michelle Witherington (Eric); seven grandchildren, Kelley Whatley (Seaborn), Robyn Forrester (Justin), Tyler Richard Self (Taylor), Lacy Jacks, Cody Sellers, Chloe Sellers, and Garrett Witherington; seven great-grandchildren, Cannon Wilton, Gracie Wilton, Addison Wilton, Avery Whatley, Jones Whatley, Cade Forrester, and Tanner Forrester. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 20159 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, followed by the 2:30 p.m. chapel service officiated by Wade Griffith.
