Raymond received his education at Berry High School in Berry, Alabama.
In 1960, Raymond was united in holy matrimony with Glendora Shirey in Clay County, Alabama. Their union was blessed with two children.
Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves. For over 40 years, he enjoyed his career as owner and operator of McB Steel.
In his leisure, he enjoyed bowling, watching sports, and spending time with his family. He was a master Mason for over 50 years. He was also a lifelong Baptist.
Survivors he leaves to cherish his memory include: his wife, Glendora Brown; his two sons, James Raymond Brown, Jr. (Bonnie) and Bart Brown, and his three granddaughters, Shirey, Shaley, and Jalynn.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 pm.
