

COMSTOCK, JAMES "CRICK" ROYAL, age 80, died on September 27, 2011, at home after a long chronic illness. He was born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut. He was a graduate of Danbury State College and the University of Connecticut. He was a patriot, proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Jim was president and owner of Com-Trol Corporation, a Manufacturer's Representative, for over 40 years. His sister, Judith Strmiska; his parents, Vema Comstock and James Willis Comstock; and his grandparents, Eva and Royal Decker preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Patricia Comstock; his daughter, Christie Hawkins; his son-in-law, Randy Hawkins; two grandchildren, Gavin and Keaton Hawkins; brothers-in-law, Richard and Francis Strmiska; sister-in-law, Hilda Strmiska; seven nieces and nephews; and several cousins. Memorial service will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 2 p.m., with interment immediately following in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. A reception will start at 1 p.m. Saturday.
