Jim was born on October 4th, 1938 in Birmingham, AL to Fred and Margaret (Ingram) Cunningham. He received a bachelor’s degree in business from Auburn University and retired at SONAT after many years of dedicated service. On June 28th, 1963, he married Billie Margaret Martin. They raised two amazing children Martin and Ginger.
Jim had a passion for Auburn football, hunting, fishing and tinkering in his basement workshop. He also enjoyed reading and watching his favorite shows on the History Channel. His favorite place to be was the beach, fishing, playing with his grandchildren and going out for seafood. He was known for his kindness, making others smile and his compassionate spirit.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Fred, and his mother, Margaret. He is survived by his wife, Billie, his two children, Ginger and Martin and his grandchildren, Abby, Will, Gwen and Lilly.
A private family graveside service will be held in his honor.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
