I never never had the privilege of meeting  Jim Donovan, but I knew his mother, my mother's Aunt Stella. My mother was Martha Eleanor (Clotfelter) Young. My grandmother was Martha Jane Thompson Clotfelter, Stella's sister. My cousin, Susan Jimison, got in contact with Jim recently and told me how much she enjoyed meeting him. I send my sympathies and warm regards to all his family.

So sorry to hear this sad news.  Your father was such a sweet person.  His generation of the family is quickly moving on to glory.  We are so fortunate to have the legacy they have left behind.

My very earliest memories of extended family were of my Aunt Dot, Uncle James, Pat and Tim.  Any visit "home" for my parents always included a visit with the Donovan's.  Uncle James's laugh will forever remain in my mind and heart.  He was always a pleasant and loving uncle, full of life,  kind and gentle, always with a smile at the corner of his mouth. Jim Donovan was a witty, sweet southern gentleman. Everyone that knew him probably learned something from him. I know I did.  I learned the more pleasant you are to be around, in whatever situation, will come back to you more than twofold. I hope when I am 90 plus I can still see the good in everything and people will still want to be around me. I learned the importance of honoring a brothers legacy. I will always remember Jim Donovan. They just don't make 'em like that anymore!  Rest in Peace
