James graduated from Midfield High School and attended the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He was employed several years as a brick mason, working up to the time he had to retire due to disability. In his leisure, he enjoyed motorcycling, reading, studying history, listening to music, cooking, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with family.
James was predeceased by his parents, James and Catherine Giada, and one niece, Heather Earl. He is survived by his sisters and their husband: Donna (David) Scissom, Anna (Mike) Vaughn, Pat Earl, and Cathy (Joe) Lee. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7340 Cahaba Valley Road, Birmingham, AL 35242. Reception to follow at the church.
