He was born in Cordova, Alabama, on May 7, 1932, to Ed and Louise Maxwell. Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Even during life's tribulations, the greatest of these being his son's death, he remained a faithful servant of the Lord; and was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Hunting, fishing, taking his grandkids to Star Lake, and playing solitaire were some of his favorite pastimes. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Jimmy in death are his son, James "Jamie" Edward Maxwell III; his parents, James Edward "Ed" and Louise Maxwell; brothers, LaVaughn (Shirley) Maxwell, and Donnie (Margaret) Maxwell; and sisters, Betty Jane (Harold) Sherer; and Delores (Johnny) Benson.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Aulene Maxwell; daughter-in-law, Linda Maxwell Dillon; two grandchildren, James "Andrew" Maxwell, Ashlyn Maxwell Lewis; and sister, Judy (Edgar) Smith.
Graveside service for Jimmy will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Mount Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Cordova, Alabama.
