

James Clifton (Jim) Taylor, 31, of Birmingham passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2010 at his home. Born June 28, 1979, Jim graduated from Briarwood Christian High School in 1997 and pursued his passion of cooking by attending The Culinard Institute of Virginia College and then working as a chef in area restaurants. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Lee Taylor, of Birmingham. He is survived by his wife, Brittany Martin Taylor; daughter, McKenzie Grace Taylor; mother, Lana Mattingly Taylor, all of Birmingham; sister, Emily Taylor Acton and brother in law, Bradford Donald Acton, both of North Carolina. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mattie B. Mattingly; grandfather, Eugene M. Taylor, Sr.; uncle Eugene M. Taylor, Jr.; aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Joe Vincent; uncles, Lennie Mattingly and Jay Mattingly; and several cousins, all of Kentucky. He is also survived by his mother in law and her husband, David and Jennifer Scott, father in law and his wife, Jeff and Heidi Martin and their children, Tori and Tyler Martin, grandmother in law, Gloria Wolfe, all of Birmingham. Family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with burial at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
