Jean Andrews May was born on February 2, 1926 to Osa Lamar Andrews and Kathleen Wilson Andrews in Birmingham Alabama. She grew up in Avondale and attended Avondale Elementary and graduated from Ramsey High School. She was a member of Riverchase United Methodist Church. Jean Andrews was united in matrimony with Carrol Eugene May in 1950 and their marriage lasted 60 years until his death in 2010. They had three children: Richard Carrol May (Leigh), Laura Jean May and Joy “Dee” Weeks (Mike) and one grandson Wilson Carrol May. Jean loved puzzles and games. She learned to play bridge when she was 12 and played continuously for 83 years. in her younger years she was an avid golfer. Mainly though she loved socializing with her family and friends. Due to Covid-19 a private service will be held Thursday August 19 at Southern Heritage. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Jimmy Hale Mission or a charity of your choice.
