Joe Drayton Craddock, 60, passed away Wednesday evening, August 3, 2011. He was born and raised in Leeds, Alabama and moved to Alabaster, Alabama in 1977. He retired from management with BellSouth after 32 years of service. Family and friends will long remember Joe for his devotion to his wife Becky and two sons Chris and Michael. Joe won the applause of many youngsters and their parents as he coached Chris and Michael's t-ball and soccer teams in Alabaster, and led their Boy Scouting groups. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Ida Lee Craddock, and his brother, Bo Craddock. In addition to Becky, Chris, and Michael, survivors include two sisters, Willadean McLaughlin (Bitt) and Betty Vickers; and two brothers, Frank Craddock (Geraldine) and Arliss Craddock (Connie). The memorial service for Joe Craddock will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011 in the chapel of Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The service will be preceded by one hour of visitation at the funeral home. The family welcomes friends to wear casual clothing.
