ALLEN, JOHN EDWARD, JR., age 41, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away Monday, July 23, 2012. Loving husband, dedicated father, devoted son and brother, and cherished friend. A Birmingham, Alabama native, John grew up in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. He was a member of Evangel Presbyterian Church, Varsity Head Basketball Coach at Shades Mountain Christian School, and Alabama State Director for Youth Basketball of America. Preceded in death by his father, Johnny Edward Allen, Sr. Survivors: John's wife, Karri Lingo Allen; son, Jonathan; mother, Maureen Cowley Allen; brother, Michael Allen (Traci); father- and mother-in-law, Randolph and Darla Lingo; brothers-in-law, Randy Lingo (Kathy) and Rick Lingo (Stacey); and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
