Kenneth graduated from Williamsburg High School where he was a star football player. He was married to Patsy Floyd Sexton for 50 years.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Jay Timothy Sexton, Bobby Sexton, Kendra Slagle (Harry), and Heather Speegle (Rodney); 10 grandchildren, Christy Sexton, Katie Sexton, Cammera Sexton, Kimberly Nalley(Caleb), Bobby Sexton, Jr. (Jama), Amber Sexton, Skyler Slagle (Hannah), Sarah Slagle, Logan Speegle, and Lauren Speegle; and multiple great-grandchildren, other family members, and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Patsy; one son, Kendell Sexton (Cindy); and a grandson, Kendell Sexton, Jr.
Kenneth was a devoted husband and a beloved father and “Papaw.” He loved his family and loved to brag on them to others. He was a hard-working man who became a Master Machinist. He worked for Hayes International where he worked on building parts for the Saturn Rocket, and he also worked at U.S. Steel, Bama Foods, and O’Neal Steel.
Kenneth loved to talk and never met a stranger. He told great stories about being a young child living in a coal mining town in Kentucky, about spending his high school years at Williamsburg High School, as well as many stories about his work and family. He attended every high school reunion until his health impeded his travel and his friends wrote him regularly.
Kenneth will be missed.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 10-11 a.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Kenneth at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
