Left behind to celebrate Kikuko's life are her four loving daughters, Barbara Zouboukos (Constantine), Beverly L. Lumbert, Diane M. Thorne (Tim), and Donna J. Lumbert (Dan Johnson).
Kikuko was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandson: Matthew L. Thorne (Ansley) and son Brooks, and granddaughters: Mallory Samuelson (Ben), Melanie Johnson, and Chloe Johnson.
Kikuko met Fred while he served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Okinawa. She came to the United States and raised her four wonderful daughters. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a passion for gardening, ceramics, shopping, traveling, and music. She also loved people, and was considered by everyone "a social butterfly." Everyone who met her, loved her.
Being with her family was the most important thing in Kikuko's life. She was the rock and strength of the family, and repeatedly stated that her girls are what kept her going. . .
Kikuko Lumbert's family will have a private viewing and service at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on December 23, 2021. She will be laid to rest at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo with her husband of 63 years.
