

He was born in Bessemer, AL on February 13, 1953. Larry graduated from Hueytown High School in 1971. Graduated from the University of Alabama with an EdD in Music Education in 1977.
Larry had a career in teaching Choral Music in several Jefferson County Schools. He taught Music Education at Jefferson State Community School, Jacksonville State University and Samford University.
Larry served as Minster of Music in several Baptist Churches before going to Southminster Presbyterian Church and he retired from there after 27 years in March 2025.
He had a deep passion for gardening. He loved growing beautiful flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Gail W Hardin. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary last year. He is also survived by his sister, Valerie Hardin Franks, (Keith their children, Meredith, Jonathan and Lauren, His sister-in-law. Cindi Hardin, her children, Scott Hardin and Corey Hardin (Laura).
Larry was preceded in death by his son, B. Christopher Hardin, his brother, Bill Hardin, and his dad, William Roy Hardin and his mother, Beatrice Hardin Walls.
A visitation will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL, 35124, on September 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 1124 Montgomery Hwy, Vestavia Hills, AL, 35216, on October 1, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The committal service will follow at Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL, 35124, on October 1, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
